Catching the thrown high ball (u10)
Introduce high-ball catching without traffic or demanding jumps — the aerial game was at zero in this band, and it starts with a safe catch before any contest.

Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- Hands form a W behind the ball, thumbs close — the ball never slips between the hands.
- Catch at the highest point reachable, not waiting for the ball to drop.
- Bring the ball to the chest after securing it, to protect it.
- At this age no jumping over opponents is asked — a clean, confident catch is.
Progressions
- Take a step to attack the ball.
- Throw slightly to the side, forcing a foot adjustment.
Regressions
- Lower the throw height.
- Catch the ball stationary, to the chest.
