Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- Position sits on the angle bisector, not on an imaginary straight line to the centre of the goal.
- The arc has depth: the closer the ball is to centre, the deeper the goalkeeper should stand.
- Move in a shuffle, without crossing the feet, shoulders always facing the ball.
- Anticipate the angle change by reading the dribbler’s body, not just the ball.
Progressions
- Increase dribbling speed towards match pace.
- Add a shot at the end of each move, linking to shot-stopping.
- Reduce warning: the server changes direction with no fixed pattern.
Regressions
- Reduce the lateral span of the course.
- Mark the correct positions on the ground with markers.
