Angle bisection on the shot from the side
Place the body on the line that halves the shooting angle, giving both corners equal chance — angle bisection was a thin topic and is the geometric base of all positioning.

Shots from different wide positions. For each ball, the goalkeeper adjusts to sit on the bisector of the angle between the ball and the two posts, before the shot.
Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- Sit on the line that halves the angle — then each corner demands the same of the goalkeeper.
- The wider the ball, the closer the goalkeeper comes to the near post without uncovering it.
- Adjust with fast side steps and arrive still on the bisector before contact.
- Depth also counts: coming out narrows the angle but exposes the chip — a conscious balance.
Progressions
- Remove the cone and read the angle freely.
- Alternate servers without warning.
Regressions
- Cone marking the middle of the angle.
- Shots from one side only.
