The coach serves and manages the breaks.
Five outfield players simulate opponent circulation against a defensive block. The goalkeeper identifies and calls the moment to press, with no shot-stopping action involved.
Coaching points
- The trigger call precedes the block’s movement, never follows after it has already started.
- Identify concrete cues (back pass, weak support, ball behind) rather than commanding on feel.
- One call per trigger — don’t repeat it several times once the block has already reacted.
- Keep the same terminology used in matches; this is not the day to introduce new vocabulary.
Progressions
- Raise circulation tempo to match pace.
- Introduce a second trigger (high press vs. low block) decided in real time.
Regressions
- Reduce the number of outfield players involved.
- Stop circulation at each trigger to confirm the call calmly.
