Decision-making under fatigue at the end of training
Test the quality of the come-out decision and intervention timing when physical fatigue is present — the condition under which most game mistakes happen.

Deliberately placed at the end of the session, after demanding physical work: a 1v1 or a shot after a short combination, with the goalkeeper already physically tired.
Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- Fatigue delays the decision before it delays the movement — the read degrades first, not the legs.
- Keep the pre-action concentration routine even when tired: that’s exactly when it’s missed most.
- Accept that technical execution may be slightly lower; what’s being assessed here is decision quality, not perfect technique.
- Always end the session with a successful action, even a simple one — the last memory of training sticks.
Progressions
- Increase physical load immediately before the exercise.
- Reduce recovery time between reps within the exercise itself.
Regressions
- Place the exercise at the start of the session, without accumulated fatigue, to work the decision alone.
