Far-side shuffle along the arc
Track along the arc as the ball circulates to the far side, keeping the angle shut throughout — the far-side shuffle was thin and is where the angle opens through carelessness.

2 steps
The ball circulates from side to side across the width. The goalkeeper shuffles along the imaginary arc, always keeping the right relationship with ball and posts, and saves at the end.
Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- Shuffle along the arc, not in a straight line parallel to the goal line — the arc keeps the angle shut.
- The feet shuffle continuously during the circulation; stopping the feet opens the angle unnoticed.
- Keep the shoulders square to the ball throughout the side switch.
- Arrive still and balanced on the new side before the shot, never still moving.
Progressions
- Fast circulation with a shot after the switch.
- Add an extra pass in the circulation.
Regressions
- Slow circulation with time to adjust.
- Reduce the circulation width.
