Shot-stoppingRepresentativeTactics
Hidden direction with two servers
Train shot-stopping with genuine uncertainty about origin and direction, keeping perception and action coupled.

The coach serves and manages the breaks.
2 steps
Two servers at 15 metres, spread either side of centre. The goalkeeper adjusts position to the ball. Only one server strikes, and the goalkeeper does not know which until the ball is released. The server picks the corner in the moment.
Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- Set relative to the ball that can be struck, not to the geometric midpoint between the two.
- The set position must be established before the strike — a goalkeeper still adjusting arrives late.
- Read the striker’s standing leg and trunk, not the ball: the information arrives before contact.
- Do not anticipate: guessing early under real uncertainty means diving the wrong way.
Progressions
- Give both servers a ball and allow two strikes in succession.
- Place a player in the shooting line to obstruct sight of the ball.
- Reduce the distance to 11 metres, cutting reaction time.
Regressions
- Announce which server will strike.
- Return to a single server with an announced direction.
