1 steps
The goalkeeper moves laterally with a crossover step to a reference and immediately saves a shot to the corner. Short first, then wide with two crossover steps.
Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- The crossover step covers distance; the last stride always finds the set position before the shot.
- Do not arrive at the save moment with feet crossed — it robs balance and push-off power.
- The shoulders stay facing the ball throughout the movement.
- Finish balanced and loaded, ready to dive either way.
Progressions
- Wide movement with two crossover steps.
- Reduce the time between arrival and shot.
Regressions
- Short one-step movement.
- Lower the shot speed.
