2 steps
Two servers on either flank exchange the ball. The goalkeeper follows the positioning arc on each switch, with no shot on goal in this version.
Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- The readjustment starts the moment the ball leaves the first server’s foot, not when it reaches the second.
- Move along the arc, never in a straight line across the goal.
- Keep the feet active even in the instants without a live ball — the set position is never lost between transitions.
- Few reps, full focus on arc quality, not on the number of switches.
Progressions
- Raise the ball-exchange tempo to match pace.
- Add an occasional, unannounced shot after the switch.
Regressions
- Reduce the width between the two servers.
- Pause between each switch for a deliberate reset.
