1 steps
The goalkeeper rolls the ball to one of two centre-backs, choosing the freer one and delivering to the outlet foot. A stationary teammate first, then moving and asking for a specific foot.
Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- The roll-out stays flat along the ground, with no bounce, so the teammate controls it on the move.
- Deliver to the teammate’s outlet foot, which already orients them for the next pass.
- The arm follows low and straight, like a bowling delivery; weight matches the distance.
- Pick the freer centre-back with the better progression angle, not the nearest by reflex.
Progressions
- Moving teammate asking for the right foot.
- Increase the roll-out distance.
Regressions
- Stationary, free teammate.
- Bring the targets closer.
