Confidence routine between precision series
Keep a short reset routine between precision kicks, so an inaccurate pass doesn’t contaminate the next one — the same mistake-recovery logic applied here to distribution, not shot-stopping.

A series of precision kicks to a fixed target, with a short reset routine between each — breath, gesture, word — regardless of the previous one’s quality.
Exercise sequence
Coaching points
- The routine happens every time, even after a perfect pass — it can’t depend on the outcome, or it stops being reliable when it’s needed most.
- An inaccurate pass isn’t analysed mid-series; analysis comes afterwards, the reset is immediate.
- Keep the same technical preparation before every kick, regardless of the emotional state after the previous one.
- Always end the series with a clean kick — the last feeling stays associated with correct execution.
Progressions
- Increase the distance to the target, raising technical demand without changing the routine.
- Introduce a small distraction between kicks.
Regressions
- Reduce the distance to the target.
- Increase the time available for the reset routine.
